GENERAL NOTES ON THE FAMILY OF COURTNEY BAILEY: Courney and Violet are buried in Woodside Cemetery, Middletown, Ohio.
1999 OBITUARY OF VIOLET BAILEY: Violet's obituary appeared in a local newspaper: "Violet Wireman Bailey, daughter of Fred Wireman and Myrtle King Wireman, died this morning in Middletown, Ohio. She was born on May 23, 1919, in Campton and lived much of her life there. She was married to Courtney Bailey, also of Campton, who died in 1995. She is survived by two daughters and two sons, eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Violet had been diagnosed with cancer last winter and had fought a valiant battle, enduring chemotherapy treatments and responding well. She celebrated her 80th birthday in May with family and friends. She fell at home on August 18 and broke her hip. During her hospitalization it was discovered that she had lesions on her brain. She chose not go receive radiation therapy and left the hospital on September 3 to spend her final days at home. Arrangments are with Baker Funeral Home in Middletown."
