Welcome to my personal website, which is a place for me to informally share some of my random interests.  When I started researching my family tree many years ago, my original purpose for having a website was to share my family tree.  This website has become more general in purpose over time, and now includes aspects beyond genealogy, such as photography, music, etc.  British television is one of my addictions, and more specifically, crime and mystery series and movies.  When I complied and added a list of those on this site, the number of people viewing that page skyrocketed, and is one of the first results of a Google search.  The photo  above is a stock photograph of Eilean Donan Castle in Scotland.  Listed below are some random and useless facts about me.

  • American.  Humble novice in the mastery of nothingness.  Practitioner of the  golden rule.  Some tendencies which are recognized to be anal retentive.

  • Anglophile: a lover of most things British.  Hibernophile: a lover of most things Irish.  Skeptophile: a lover of logical thought, skepticism, and critical thinking. 

  • Pluviophile: a lover of rain, especially mist, drizzle, and fog.  Which goes with being a warm embracer of most things melancholic, gothic, and dark.

  • Highly caffeinated with Starbucks throughout the day.  Responsible and dedicated Guinness enthusiast.  Yes, Guinness does taste better in Ireland!

  • Music addict extraordinaire of most genres.  Zero musical talent.  Have been instructed to never sing, under any circumstance, ever!

  • Abnormally addicted to genealogy.  Do not descend from anyone even close to being remotely famous, but have some famous distant cousins.

  • Football enthusiast of both varieties: American (both NFL and NCAA) and British (Premier League).  Rugby?  Possibly, if there was more coverage.

  • And if you haven’t figured it out by now, self-deprecating and aficionado of dry humor (i.e. especially British) and situational humor (i.e. Seinfeld-isms).

This website is personally funded by me.  It does contain any advertisements, which helps maintain my desire for a clean and minimalist design, and without the unpredictable visual clutter that ads introduce.   For those who might technically curious, the website is hosted by Wix.com, and was designed entirely by yours truly.  The typography used is the San Francisco (SF) font, which is freely available from Apple for macOS.
